Kalamkari Art

Kalamkari is all about Kari (craftmanship) using Kalam (pen). A highly elaborated art form involving 17 steps in creating, made using bamboo or date palm leaves as pens. Colors are made by extracting colors from various roots, leaves, and mineral salts. Natural dyes are obtained by using cow dungs, seeds, plants and crushed flowers. Even the buffalo milk is used in the process
